Neugenics Datastore

Introduction

There are three sections to the datastore: the security store, the research store, and the personal store. This store served as the primary store for all data for the company. There is indication of a remote site redundant backup served by some company by the name of BitPrison. A quick search finds that BitPrison is some kind of underground non-mega (at least on the surface) distributed backup system used by small companies to try and keep their data safe from the megas. There’s no indication that it actually works but their advertising makes a good sell.

Research store

This store has obviously been wiped as of 1/16/60. What is left appears to be the followup research of the team that the team found on site. There’s lots of mention of “missing expertise” and the names Andrew, Julie, Daniel, and Sonya come up. Andrew Dyson was apparently the lead scientist of Neugenics and his partner Julie Kowalski both share several patents on RNA restructuring and analysis. It appears to be pretty mundane stuff. Daniel Yang was the Sr. Biochemist and Sonya Li was the senior Genetic Engineer. All four have no files in the research store but are referenced in various parts by other scientists as is a fifth name “Gentry”. It appears the remaining team was tasked with processing data files that were coming in at routine intervals. The nature of the work is complex (will require someone with biochemistry or science or anything to analyze). The analysis appears to be based on samples the team was receiving every couple of days that were somehow tied to the senior science team that was removed from the building.

Security store

This store is far more interesting. There are security videos and status files of everything that’s passed through the place in the last 6 months including data since the beginning of the “invasion” as well as the installation and maintenance of the drones that were brought in by the security team on 1/16/60. The date of the invasion was 12/13/59. The operational staff was removed from the facility while the scientists were detained. Paul Stevens appears to have been in charge of the invasion force even though earlier video shows him working as a functional employee of Neugenics. He is listed as the director of security and is/was a full time employee of Neugenics and had been for several years. The original invasion force left the facility on 1/16/60 with the four scientists in hand and turned over the facility to the force the party took out. Over the course of the invasion time some new face can be seen several times directing the scientists and arguing with the senior staff. More information on this will be available as the party wants to analyze it.

"looks like the security camera footage caught everything inside and out. i got the van used to shuttle data between this facility and the senior scientists... not to mention all the primaries and a pretty good indication of which team they're on" -- Ike

Personal Store

This store has personal account data for every employee. Each individual datastore is encrypted so the party will have to spend time cutting through the data to analyze whatever accounts they like.

"i've interpolated the email convo between Paul and the missing talking head... it appears they weren't in agreement over how this little soiree should go down. guess which one won..." -- Ike
